The Abbeyfield Uxbridge Society
More often than not, when considering the best options for accomodation for older people in later years, it is a difficult
decision for individuals and family to take. That is not surprising, it is sometimes thought that the only options are the
stark choices of staying at home alone and enduring old age or going into a "residential/care home".
Often
the decision has to be taken against a backdrop of changing circumstances, post bereavement, loneliness or simple realisation
that living on your own is becoming too onerous, are common triggers. Family concerns that Mum or Dad may not be looking after
their diet anymore, or that they are simply too far away, are equally common issues. The reluctance to give up ones independence
is understandable, which is where the unique offer of our Abbeyfield House in Hayes provides a real alternative.
We provide Supported Sheltered Housing for Older people - in a home from home environment. Our friendly and supportive team
think of Abbeyfield as a collections of homes within one supportive sociable community.
This is a unique form of accomodation
for older people, enabling them to maintain a high level of independent living, whilst having the reassurance of a support
network close at hand - we are not a residential or nursing home, thus our inclusive charges are significantly lower.>
